How to remove oil from the driveway or Street
Oil stains not only affect the appearance of driveways, but they can also cause permanent damage. Oil stains on certain surfaces, such as concrete, can be tackled with a solvent. But solvents are far too strong for asphalt and will erode the surface. The safest bet, is to just use plain old soap and water to remove the stains.
Instructions
1 If you notice the stain right away, apply some cat litter to absorb the oil, then sweep it up and discard.
2 Apply liquid dish soap or detergent to the oil stain.
3 Add enough water from a watering can or garden hose to create soap suds.
4 Use a scrub brush or push broom to scrub the soap against the stain.
5 Rinse the spot with water. If you still see remnants of oil in the water after you have rinsed, repeat Steps 2 through 4.
6 If you cannot remove the stain with soap and water, purchase a commercial driveway cleaner designed specifically for use on asphalt. Follow the directions on the label.

GARAGE DOOR SECURITY:
Thieves are now targeting homes by gaining entrance through garage doors. We realize that it's extremely hot in the summer, but residents should be aware that uninvited guests can make their way into your garage when garage doors are left open for any length of time. Crooks can even use a universal remote to gain control of the automatic garage doors. If you do have your garage door up and you hear it start to move then stop, you may want to re-program your remotes. This is done on most automatic garage door units by holding the "LEARN" button for more than 30 seconds or until it stops flashing. This will deactivate any remotes tied to your garage door opener as well as a keypad. You can then re-program your remotes and keypads with a new signal code, per the manufactures instructions. Another safety tip, lock your door that leads from the garage into your home, preferably with a dead bolt, whether you’re home or away. The garage access door should be as secure as the front door to your home.
